Stars were shining bright at the opening of celeb and fashion photographer Mario Testino’s latest exhibition, “Obsessed by You”. And Testino himself appeared pretty star-struck by his party’s celebrity turnout. “I’ve planning this for so long, look how many people came!” he told PEOPLE last night, at the luxe Phillips de Pury & Company auction house event in London. Shirtless waiters served Champagne and Pimm’s to a fashionable crowd that included designer Tom Ford and models Naomi Campbell and Claudia Schiffer, who, like many of Testino’s subjects, has a long-standing relationship with the photographer. “I’ve known Mario for 20 years. When he was not even Mario Testino yet,” said Schiffer. “He’s always been amazing.” And Ford concurred: “It’s hard to say which [photograph] is my favorite because I love Mario’s work. If a weekly dose of Keeping up with the Kardashians just isn’t enough for you, you’ll soon be able to get even more of the show’s biggest star. Kim Kardashian announced yesterday afternoon that she will launch her very own celebrity fragrance in May of 2009. “It has always been a dream of mine to start my own perfume business, since I love to mix fragrances together and come up with now and different scents!” she explains on her blog. “It all started when my mom introduced me to famous perfumer…. She and I have been working together to create a scent that is uniquely me that I can share with everyone!” No word yet on precisely what the fragrance will smell like — but we’ll keep you posted as more details come in. With recent films like Ironman and Talladega Nights under her belt, model-turned-actress Leslie Bibb is returning to her catwalk roots. Almay confirms to PEOPLE that Bibb has been appointed as their global brand ambassador, joining supermodels Elaine Irwin Mellencamp and Marina Theiss. And Bibb, who was discovered during a 1990 Oprah Winfrey Show model search with Elite Models, is thrilled to be back. “The Almay Woman is pure, fresh, and natural, which is how I try to be everyday,” she says. “It is a tremendous honor to be partnering with a brand which shares the same sensibilities on life and beauty.” Tell us: What do you think about Almay’s choice of Bibb as their newest ambassador?

Liv Tyler isn’t just in Paris this week to check out the couture shows — although she did make a front row appearance at Christian Dior already — she’s in the City of Lights with her younger sister Chelsea to ring in her 31st birthday. At the the Blue Soiree at the Hotel Crillon for Lanvin and Acne (celebrating the companies’ joint collaboration on a denim-wear collection), the Lanvin-clad actress tells PEOPLE that she’s “excited” for her getaway. “It’s my birthday tomorrow and I’m going to spend it with my sister and we’re going to a Givenchy show,” says Tyler. “I’m excited to have a little fun here with my sister.” But at that very moment, she was even more excited to see the man of the hour, whom she greeted with hugs and kisses. “I love Alber Elbaz. He’s such a kind man. I love Lanvin — he made it [the dress] for me,” she gushed of the diminutive designer. Other guests in attendance included Eva Mendes, in a swirling Dior dress, and uber-stylist Rachel Zoe.

Emile Hirsch is a lot of things — a certifiable action star (hello, Speed Racer!), a Screen Actors Guild award nominee — but one he isn’t yet: a style star. Sure, that may not be a legitimate expectation for the 23-year-old actor who roughed it for his role in Into the Wild. But Hirsch appears to be trying to change all of that. Witness the glam-Western inspired getup he wore to Valentino’s spring menswear show recently — he is also the face of the line for the Spring 09 collection. You have to appreciate that he made an effort past his typical uniform of jeans and a T-shirt, but we can’t help but think that Hirsch missed the mark by trying to go too high fashion all at once. And here’s what really stings: He has the raw materials — never mind the acting chops — to be the full package: a brilliant actor and a head-turner. Tell us: What do you think of Emile’s look? She may be known for how little she wears on stage, but at last night’s W Magazine screening of Battle in Seattle in Malibu, burlesque star Dita Von Teese gave PEOPLE a backstage scoop on her life, love, and soon-to-launch line of lingerie. “I work a lot. I’m traveling all the time, so I go to a lot of parties and events and I have fun. My work is fun,” says the former Mrs. Marilyn Manson. And while she is dipping her toe into the dating pool again, finding a man is not a priority at the moment. “I just work a lot, and fortunately work for me is a lot of fun. Along away I meet a nice gentleman to go out with once in awhile — actually they’re not gentlemen at all.” In addition to her party-hopping, Dita is working on an appropriate new line of apparel. “I have a lingerie collection coming out for Wonderbra only in Europe,” she tells us. “I’m really excited about that.” And fortunately for us, she’s not counting out bringing the collection to America after the September launch. “I think it’s a really beautiful collection,” she says. “People are really excited about it.
